News: Heaven’s Metal giving away Heaven’s Metal song by ApologetiX with purchase

“Alright, TOKYO!!!”

That’s something some of us old rockers say when we are stoked. We are stoked about this new promotional offer for anyone that buys the brand new 40th Anniversary issue of Heaven’s Metal Magazine.

Here’s the details: John Jackson, frontman, crooner, screamer, singer for that Christian parody band called Apologetix recently called Heaven’s Metal editor Doug Van Pelt.

“He told me he was doing a parody for the Sammy Hagar hit (and movie soundtrack single) ‘Heavy Metal.'” said Van Pelt. “I have to admit, I immediately thought about where he might be going with this conversation. I was already grinning with anticipation of what it might be when he asked me if I wouldn’t mind if the parody was titled ‘Heaven’s Metal.’

“I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Cranking it up loud in my stereo of choice (my car) was a treat. I’m amazed that these guys consistently pull off the sound of the bands they parody. Did you know they’ve put out more than 70 albums?

“A day or two went by with me listening to it and I came up with a crazy idea. I asked John if he’d be willing to give the song away as a promotion to anyone who buys this new issue. He said yes! I’ll say it again (as loud as the guy introducing Cheap Trick on its live album) ‘Alright, Tokyo!’

“A big, huge THANK YOU to ApologetiX for this generous promotional offer!”

So, anyone who buys the new issue will get the mp3 emailed to them. This issue has been printed and is just sitting here waiting to hit the mail stream like a young upstart band standing behind the stage, ready to hit it – filled with tension and explosive energy, there is this waiting period.

“I promised Anthony Gober of Anchor Merchandising (who I developed the idea of this 40th Anniversary issue with) that I wouldn’t sell it/release it until the Immortal Festival starts on July 25th (referred to around here as Valerie Van Pelt Day).” Up to that date, pre-orders are being taken. Those who pre-ordered it already will get an email with the mp3 song attached soon. Those who buy it after that date will, of course, also get it.

Those lucky headbangers who buy a copy at each of the Immortal Festivals will also get the song free, but they’ve got to email us (at heavensmetalmagazine@gmail.com) with a selfie of them holding the magazine. By the way, Anthony tells me that he’s got a special going with this issue – Buy the festival commemorative t-shirt and get this issue of Heaven’s Metal for $3 (regular price is $5).

Pre-orders of the 40th Anniversary issue of Heaven’s Metal can be grabbed at https://hm-press.square.site.
