News: Truth in Static – Heartfelt Melodic Rock from South Florida
There’s a new Christian rock band making waves out of South Florida, and they go by the name Truth in Static. Their sound is slick, melodic, and full of depth.
Fronted by Cory Oaks, who also writes and produces the songs, Truth in Static brings together a lineup built on both family and faith. Cory’s dad holds down the drums, Tony takes on guitar, and Joe handles bass. The result is an authentic, heartfelt blend of classic rock textures and contemporary melodic hooks.
Their debut single, Are You Listening?, written from the perspective of a mother with an autistic son, carries a deeply personal message of love and perseverance. The lyrics were penned nearly twenty years ago by Linda, whose son Steven (a talented artist with autism) also created the cover art for the single. The band plans to use more of his artwork for future releases, bringing his creativity to a wider audience.
Cory’s journey from running a craft beer pub to finding peace and inspiration in the forests of Lakeland, Florida, has shaped Truth in Static’s heartfelt sound and storytelling. Their music speaks to empathy, second chances, and the healing power of creativity.
