Extreme metal outfit Mangled Carpenter will return July 17 with Between Blood and Silence<\/em>, a new EP arriving through Rottweiler Records and Broken Curfew Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the band\u2019s 2023 release Salvation Syndrome<\/em>, the upcoming record pushes Mangled Carpenter\u2019s established deathgrind foundation into darker and more atmospheric territory. Mechanical textures, deathcore elements and slower, groove-driven passages expand the band\u2019s sonic architecture while preserving the aggression at its core.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening title track, \u201cBetween Blood and Silence,\u201d immediately establishes the EP\u2019s heavier and more deliberate character. Its crushing pace and deathcore-inflected weight signal a broader evolution that continues throughout the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Absence of Light\u201d delivers one of the EP\u2019s most corrosive attacks, channeling the band\u2019s grind-driven intensity through a dense and oppressive atmosphere. \u201cCarved\u201d takes a different route, slowing the assault into a chug-heavy groove built around blunt rhythmic force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDown, Down, to Goblin Town\u201d emerges as one of the record\u2019s defining tracks, combining grindcore velocity, crushing weight and a memorably structured refrain. The song carries a strangely infectious quality beneath its hostile exterior, turning Tolkien\u2019s goblin chant into an extreme-metal descent through the underground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appropriately titled \u201cShort, Sharp, Shock\u201d delivers a concentrated burst of blunt-force aggression, while Mangled Carpenter\u2019s rendition of \u201cTerminate Damnation\u201d pays tribute to Australian Christian death-metal pioneers Mortification. The original track appeared on the band\u2019s landmark 1992 album, Scrolls of the Megilloth<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between Blood and Silence<\/em> expands Mangled Carpenter\u2019s vocabulary without severing the roots of its sound. The EP presents a band exploring atmosphere, restraint and experimentation while keeping its deathgrind machinery fully operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
