\u201cNot My Name\u201d was produced by Josiah Prince (Disciple). Its release caps off a successful touring run serving as direct support for Seventh Day Slumber. Matt presented the song live throughout the tour, to unanimous audience approval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2018Not My Name\u2019 goes out to people with disabilities or who are black sheep, anyone who doesn\u2019t feel comfortable in their own skin,\u201d Matt explains. \u201cGrowing up with cerebral palsy and dyscalculia, it seemed that people know disabled people by whatever their disability is. You hear \u2018oh, that\u2019s the blind kid,\u2019 or \u2018oh, that\u2019s the deaf guy.\u2019 So it\u2019s like they get addressed by the disability rather than the person underneath. \u2018Not My Name\u2019 was my attempt to say that people can put their labels on you, but there\u2019s always a person underneath with potential.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
