Warriors of the King<\/em> represents Brazil’s Dynasty second full-length album which was originally released in 2010. Having endured some changes in the line-up from 2004\u2019s Motus Perpetuus<\/a><\/em>, the musical execution is a bit more polished, but the power metal format remains intact and Nahor Andrade returns on lead vocals. Overall, the songs have a bit more pace and punch yet remain equally melodic, but there is little to no keyboard presence this time around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFaith\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cLife is a Miracle\u201d<\/strong> are the opening tracks and they immediately showcase clean, discernable vocals, clarity of message, shredding guitar leads, solos, melodies and precise, speedy and powerful drumming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title track<\/strong> features a heavy riff alternating with galloping double bass and anthemic vocals as Andrade declares, \u201cWe are Dynasty, fighting for God\u201d \u2013 this song clearly declaring their desire and stance in the Kingdom with plenty of praises to boot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHoly Fire\u201d<\/strong> changes things up with a slower, riff-centric rocker, this one of the strongest songs on the album. The surprising clarity, not only within the content of the lyrics themselves, but in the vocal delivery is remarkable given that English isn\u2019t the band\u2019s native language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My only complaint about the vocals is that they feel a bit strained in the upper register on several songs, like \u201cFaith\u201d and \u201cKing of Kings.\u201d <\/strong>When Andrade sticks more to the style and register of songs like \u201cHoly Fire,\u201d \u201cMaster of Disguise\u201d and the title track Dynasty\u2019s impact is powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaster of Disguise\u201d<\/strong> is another more diverse song with a great flow of rhythms and melodies as it depicts in epic metal fashion the true nature of the Great Deceiver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not surprisingly, there is a wonderful tribute to Holy Soldier with the well-executed \u201cSee No Evil\u201d <\/strong>\u2013 a true-to-form rendering of the original with only a few embellishments added on guitars and the bass drum. This is followed by the blisteringly fast and furious \u201cBloody War\u201d <\/strong>which once again displays the quality of the skill set this band offers up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
