Review: Drown The Planet – The Blessed /// The Cursed

The Charon Collective has been home to multiple genres in the Christian extreme metal scene.  But this release in particular is one that I did not see coming.  Drown The Planet (also stylized as “drowntheplanet”) plays some very hard-hitting ‘core that snaps you awake at first listen.  Their debut EP “The Blessed /// The Cursed” was given a CD/digital treatment through The Charon Collective on July 17, 2026.

Drown The Planet mixes beatdown ‘core with electronic elements.  Their style is the result of the fusion of hardcore, deathcore, emo, and whatever else is within their incredible range.  Nonetheless, it’s all just heavy.  If the music itself doesn’t get you moshing, then perhaps the vocals can send the right chill down your spine to motivate you.  And let’s not exclude the help of the guest vocals delivered by Michael Felker (Convictions).

The EP is quite a rush, being only about twenty minutes.  Once you’ve reached the end, it leaves you wondering if you’ve missed anything, and you might scream out for more.
