Palma was a member of Emerald during the band’s formative 1980s era, serving as bassist from 1986–1988. He contributed bass performances to Emerald’s Armed for Battle, the band’s landmark 1987 release. Emerald emerged from California’s early Christian metal movement and became known for combining hard-driving rock with Christian themes.
