LUST CONTROL: Announce New Album
Lust Control, the band voted “Worst of the Decade” (1990s) by HM Magazine, refuses to go away. The band has been writing new songs (about 8) for an upcoming album to be recorded at PJ Bostic‘s studio (where One Bad Pig recorded Love You to Death). Expect it in early 2022.
“The music is heavier, which is where we’ve been going since the Feminazi recording in 1994,” says Gene (who we all know writes for this website magazine in his spare time, so trust no evaluative statements he makes). “The songs on Tiny Little Dots will give you a musical direction, but don’t necessarily expect punk riffs like “Fireants,” “Bully, Bully” or our Christmas song, “Chasing Mrs. Claus ‘Round the North Pole.”
“This record will not be your dad’s regular Lust Control record,” says Bob the drummer (aka Phil B.), who has been moonlighting on drums with Jimmy Brown of Deliverance. “No keyboards were damaged in making this record. We can’t wait for you to hear this record with your own ear holes!”
“Our musical approach on this is more grown-up,” adds the bassist known as Butch. “Biggest challenge of the moment is fitting Gene’s stupid lyrics into our masterful compositions. But it’s better than the next challenge,” he laughs, “fitting his voice into music.”
The band shares that it will have a surprise cover song and possibly even a guest vocalist on the cover. Stay tuned for more information.
In the meantime, during the COVID-19 pandemic and shutdown, the band has had its all-indie releases packaged on CD for the first time – Feminazi came out on Roxx Records, as did Dancing Naked, and the band self-released its 1988 debut last fall, This is a Condom Nation.
“The Feminazi cover art was banned by Facebook,” says Gene, “when Roxx posted it. I made an altered version for iTunes that hides the swastika. For the Dancing Naked CD, Scott Waters, who does the artwork for Roxx Records, did a killer job with a multi-page booklet in the CD.”
The band also just recently made the Blonde Vinyl Records album, Fun Fun Feeling, available across all digital platforms (Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, Deezer, etc.). If you want to buy multiple albums by Lust Control, they have a variable bundle special called “Big Bang for Your Buck!”
