Feature: Chaotic Resemblance Interview

Interview with Chaotic Resemblance / Logan Ellis

Chaotic Resemblance has been igniting stages and hearts for over a decade, delivering a powerful blend of hard-hitting metal and passionate ministry. With Christ at the core of everything they do, this band is more than just a musical act — they are a movement. As they continue to write new material and reach new audiences, we caught up with them to talk about their journey, their heart for the Gospel, and what fans can expect next. Here’s what they had to share.

You have been rocking faces off for well over a decade now. What advice would you give to a young person starting a band today?
It’s very exciting to see younger players venture out into musical projects! Advice we would give is let the Lord be the foundation and focus of what you do. We have experienced that unless Christ is in it, it will not be fulfilling. “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it do it in vain. (Psalm 127:1)”

What is the motivation behind your hard-hitting sound and ministry?
Our motivation is Christ and Christ crucified. He bought us out of sin and shame with His precious blood. He rose from the dead and is coming back soon. Everything we do is to glorify Him and invite others into eternal life through a relationship with Jesus.

Who are some of your favorite Christian metal bands?
We love so many of them! Bloodgood, Stryper, Petra, Bride, Disciple, Theocracy, and For Today are some of our favorites that span across rock and metal.

If you could tour with any band, past or present, who would it be and why?
That’s a tough question! There’s so many that we would love to tour with, but one that stands out is Audio Adrenaline (original era). They were influential to us and they just had such a fun sound.

Are you currently working on new material? What can fans expect next?
Yes, we are! We are currently writing new material and looking to get into the studio this year. People can expect what you would normally expect from us which could be metal or worship. Time will tell!

How has the reception been so far for your new song, “Chaotic Resemblance”?
The reception of our self-titled song has been good! We were looking forward to having people hear the track and we are happy to hear people are being blessed by it.

What’s one Bible verse that feels like the “theme” of Chaotic Resemblance right now?
A passage that comes to mind is Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest is truly plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

What has been your experience with Immortal Fest? Any standout memories?
We have always been honored to be a part of Immortal Fest and we are excited to be back again. It’s always a great experience being at this great event. There are many treasured memories such as people coming to Christ, becoming friends with the crew there, meeting so many of our influences, and enjoying the community that’s always present.

Any special message you’d like to share with fans attending this year’s Fest?
As always, the message of Chaotic is Jesus. We would just want to remind all the attendees that they are so valued by Jesus, worth His blood, and that He has good plans/works prepared for them to walk in as they share the Gospel throughout the world.

What does being a Christian mean to you personally, and how does it impact your life and music?
Being a Christian is the foundation to everything we do. Jesus is the most important One in our lives and we want to be well pleasing to Him. Living unto Jesus impacts our daily lives by being about His business. Being a Christian impacts our music as we sing our song(s) to Him, about Him, for Him, and with Him. He is the Vine and we are the branches. Without Him we can do nothing.

How do you hope the Christian metal scene will evolve in the next few years?
We hope to see the Christian metal scene erupt in revival with Christ being the center and substance of it all. We are seeing glimpses of this with groups releasing new content that glorifies Jesus, but we would love to see revival impact the entire community.

How can the Christian metal scene best support Chaotic Resemblance and bands like yours?
The Christian Metal scene can best support us and others firstly by prayers. Prayers are so important and often undervalued. Sharing music with others, streaming/purchasing music and merch, setting up and promoting shows, and even financially partnering with us and others are also helpful ways of supporting.
