MARTIN SIMSON’S DESTROYER OF DEATH: Master of All

Following several months on the heels of their eponymous single, “Destroyer of Death,” Martin Simson takes his guest musician project another step with its second single. This time he and his regular compatriot, guitarist, CJ Grimmark (Narnia), team up with Norway’s Jorn Lande (Masterplan, solo work) and Anders Johansson (Yngwie Malmsteen, Hammerfall, Manowar, Tungsten).

Simson and company deliver another stellar and clean power metal gem. The phrase “Worship at full volume” is totally appropriate here. The verses are like a lament of David, call to worship if you will, where he tells his soul to look up and praise and then the chorus allows and invites the listener to join in at the top of their lungs:
“The scheme within the play
The pressure comes your way
We will find a better day
So hear the voice inside you say
You’re the Master
Master of All
Master
Redeemer of the Fall”
The instrumentation features less prominent keys and less “brighter” production than “Destroyer of Death,” but the heavy power metal rhythms and guitars give the song a great punch.
This one single at a time approach is compelling due to its excellence and each one satisfies yet leaves you anticipating the next one. Bravo once again, Simson!
