Futurepunk pioneer The Plague continues his trek to the release of the full album Hope For The F.U.T.U.R.E. (2.0) with a remix of “Fallen” from trap metal artist Becko.

Becko takes on the original “Fallen” which explored man in his fallen state crying out in his desperation for salvation in a dystopian world and turns things up a notch giving the track a metal edge and a more ethereal feel while fueling a more turbulent rhythm. Becko skillfully laces the new remix around the original impassioned vocal performance from The Plague keeping the yearning spirit of seeking out the truth that made the original an inspiration.

“Becko’s remix of “Fallen” not only breathes new life into the original song but really captures the feeling of searching for faith,” says The Plague. “Becko’s production is dope and inspiring!”

Hope for the F.U.T.U.R.E. (2.0), releasing with brand new art, mixing, and mastering features sixteen catchy tracks over a variety of genres with post-apocalyptic themes portraying the struggles of being human, encouraging people to break free of superficial notions of success and to define it for themselves. From the easy-going 90s-inspired pop-rock gem “Can’t Stop Loving You” (2.0), the turbulent pop-rock “Danger” (2.0), the stand-out electronic-rock single “Fallen” (2.0), to the brutal metalcore single “Living Failure” (2.O) the album shows off the range of The Plague‘s production abilities.

“Fallen” (Becko Remix) is out now from independent multi-genre music label FiXT

The Plague is the brainchild of producer/engineer David Adam Monroe, a pioneer of Future Punk. The Plague’s post-apocalyptic themes portray the struggles of being human, encouraging people to break free of the superficial and to know they are not alone.

David has been playing music from an early age, highly encouraged by his parents, he received an electric guitar at age ten and took off emulating his favorite bands at the time; Greenday, Smashing Pumpkins, and other 90’s rock bands. His career took off at age 16 when a promoter got his high school band on the Van’s Warped Tour.

As a producer/engineer, David has produced records with many artists including Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols and multi-platinum engineer Earl Cohen. As a musician, he has toured internationally–including 4 years on Van’s Warped Tour— and has played with bands such as Tony Levin, My Chemical Romance, Story of the Year, NoFx, The Used, Yellow Card, Three Days Grace, and many more. The Plague‘s debut album Hope For the F.U.T.U.R.E. was released independently in 2017.

In 2018 The Plague remixed Circle Of Dust’s “Embracing Entropy” (feat. Celldweller), through artist-owned record label FiXT. The Plague eventually signed to FiXT in 2022 and is re-releasing the debut album with remastered tracks, new art, and bonus tracks throughout the year, ahead of a new album coming in 2023.

“My goal with The Plague was to make futuristic Christian rock, when I was producing bands in Boston, my assistant showed me Celldweller and said, “This guy is dope and reminds me of you!”  I chased Celldweller’s blend of synths and guitars, and that exploration process helped me discover my own sound.  When I finished the record I emailed James (FiXT Manager) with the spirit of a little brother and said, “Hey James, look! I self-produced a futuristic rock record that I’m releasing on my label!  You guys inspired this!”  By some wonderful miracle he was excited too!” – The Plague

Rising from the ashes of post-hardcore band Hopes Die Last, Italian multi-genre producer, musician, and vocalist Marco Calanca created Becko as a solo project, uniting influences of EDM, Hip-Hop, Industrial, and Emo-Rock.

With previous releases under his belt with labels ranging from Warner Italy and Universal Italy, to Monstercat, Lowly Palace, and Smash The House since 2014, Becko found a new home in early 2020, signing a multi-album deal with the independent, artist-owned/operated USA-based electronic-rock label FiXT, founded by genre-pioneering artist & producer Klayton (Celldweller, Circle of Dust).

In 2020, Becko released the full-length album INNER SELF, as a triumphant fusion of trap & metal. In 2021 Becko released a flurry of singles including “Darkest Days” which was produced by Mike Shinoda all on the path leading up to the release of his second full-length trap-metal album with FiXT, You Are (Not) Alone, which dropped in early 2022. Becko introduced his latest 90s-inspired concept album Present Day // Present Time with the release of “Home” and continues to build towards the full album release in 2023.
