BEFORE THERE WAS ROSALYN: Drops New Single
Before There Was Rosalyn Return With New Single “Flame : Eternal”
Are you ready for your second taste of the upcoming EP “Hypocrites” from Before There Was Rosalyn? “Flame : Eternal” exhibits the band’s flair for heavy-yet-melodic songwriting and intimate lyrics, which somehow still relate and speak to listeners worldwide. It further proves that the group has done nothing but refine themselves in their fifteen year hiatus.
The members of Before There Was Rosalyn provided a little background on “Flame : Eternal.”
“On January 11th, 2018, 26 year old Paul Graham was flying somewhere above the Ruby Mountains in Nevada in a Piper Aztec Twin Engine. Paul was a beloved brother, friend, son, who moved from Jackson Mississippi to Daytona Beach Florida in 2012 to become a pilot. At about 7:30 that evening, Paul called his brother Chris from the air to say hello. It was the last time the two brothers would speak. At about 7:45, just fifteen minutes after that call, Paul’s Twin Engine went down. He was found in the Ruby Mountains eight days later, on January 19th, 2018. He is survived by his family, his friends, and all who loved him. The song you are about to hear is a tribute to the eternal flame that is the bond of love. One that transcends tragedy – transcends death. A song born of grief six years in the making. A song that could never say enough, but gives us a place to start in remembering a life gone too soon.
For Paul, whose brother sings the chorus you are about to hear, and was instrumental in bringing this song to life – and for all of us who have had death take from us in this life, may we honor the dead with every breath that we take, and always remember, ‘what is grief, if not love persevering?’”
