Voluntary Mortification: Back in The Studio

by Seth Metoyer, Heaven’s Metal Magazine,
Voluntary Mortification is back in the studio, turning up the heat for a pummeling follow-up to their 2022 debut, Suffer to Rise. The Michigan extreme metal crew spent last weekend laying down fresh tracks and are working with producer and engineer Daniel Keebler McKay of Collapse//Revive, handling everything from recording to mastering. And, for those hungry for new sounds, the band hints a single could drop before year’s end.
The Mortifiers had initially started recording this summer, but decided to take things back to the drawing board, reworking their approach to craft something even more intense. “We revamped a lot of what we were working on to make it even GNARLIER,” they shared on social media, fueling curiosity for just how far they’re pushing their sound this time around.
There’s a fervor behind Voluntary Mortification right now, and they’re calling on fans to keep the support coming as they go all in on this next chapter. Expect something ferocious, soon, from these Midwestern metalheads.
