Review: TAKE’s ‘Time Bomb’ Explodes with Fury
Take’s ‘Time Bomb’ Detonates with Fury
by Seth Metoyer, Heaven’s Metal Magazine,
Christian hardcore metal outfit TAKE has unleashed their latest furious assault, Time Bomb, on Resuscitation Records, in partnership with 72 Entertainment Group. This album is a relentless barrage from start to finish, seamlessly blending the ferocity of hardcore, metalcore, and the raw intensity of hardcore punk. Drawing parallels to the unyielding aggression of Hatebreed and the groove-laden riffs reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine (and dare I say, early Papa Roach), TAKE crafts a sound that’s both familiar and refreshingly distinct.
Throughout Time Bomb, the band weaves melodic elements that echo the atmospheric tones of earlier AFI, adding depth to their relentless onslaught. Tracks like “Take Me Back”, “Abandoned”, “Waves of Eterntiy”, and quite possibly my favorite song on the album, “Land of The Free”, showcase this versatility, delivering crushing breakdowns alongside haunting melodies. Fans of early Disciple and Chevelle might also find solace in TAKE‘s ability to merge heavy instrumentation with poignant, introspective lyrics.
The album is available in a deluxe 12″ LP format, pressed on 180g russet eco-mix vinyl, accompanied by a 12-page lyric booklet and a 4″ x 4″ sticker. This limited edition pressing is restricted to 100 units, making it a coveted addition for collectors. Secure your copy through Resuscitation Records’ official store. Time Bomb is a must-listen for aficionados of heavy music. Its unrelenting energy and masterful genre fusion ensure it will remain in heavy rotation for the foreseeable future.
