DISCIPLE: Scores First Grammy Nomination

Heaven’s Metal Magazine is thrilled to share the news that Disciple, the legendary Christian rock (once upon a time, metal) band known for their powerhouse sound and heartfelt messages, has just received their very first Grammy nomination! Nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, it’s a well-deserved recognition for a band that has been a force in Christian music for decades, continually inspiring listeners with their passion for faith and resilience.
For me, this is an especially exciting moment. I go way back with Disciple, all the way to their early days on Rugged Records, working alongside them during the By God era over 20 years ago. To see how far they’ve come and to witness all they’ve achieved since then fills me with immense joy. Disciple has grown, evolved, and kept their faith central to everything they do, and this nomination is a testament to their impact.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Disciple shared their thoughts on the Grammy recognition, saying, “Honestly, we’re still speechless over our first Grammy nomination. This is a recognition we never saw coming. It’s particularly meaningful that the nominated song is one that recognizes and reveres God’s revolutionary love, which has truly been the foundation of everything Disciple has accomplished.”
Their nominated track, “Firm Foundation (He Won’t),” is a song about weathering life’s storms through faith in Christ. Disciple expressed the song’s powerful message, reminding fans that “the story of redemption and the story of victory and the story of triumph over tragedy doesn’t come without a storm.” It’s this raw honesty and dedication to spreading messages of hope that have kept Disciple close to fans’ hearts through the years.
