News: The World Will Burn – Returns with Burn Baby Burn

Dale Thompson and Alan Zaring reunite for their most searing album yet.

After a five-year silence, The World Will Burn has reignited their creative fire. The brainchild of Dale Thompson (Bride) and guitarist/producer Alan Zaring, the project that surprised Christian hard rock circles in 2016 with Severity is now back with a vengeance. Their new album, Burn Baby Burn (pre-order here), marks a powerful return, and it just might be their most ambitious and emotionally intense work to date.

Dale Thompson, whose unmistakable vocals once helped define Christian metal in the ‘80s and ‘90s with Bride, sounds as vital and impassioned as ever. Paired with Zaring’s massive guitar tone and experimental arrangements, the result is an album that walks the line between raw aggression and melodic intricacy. Think Tool meets Chevelle, with shades of Deftones, Thrice, Fuel, and Bring Me the Horizon.

Originally formed after Thompson had all but stepped away from the music scene, The World Will Burn started as a bold idea: fuse thoughtful lyrics and heavy, genre-pushing music into something new. Three albums later, including 2019’s Nothing’s As Real As It Seems—the band now stands ready to take things even further.

This time around, they’ve partnered with Girder Records to help push the release into more hands and ears.

“We knew this album deserved the Girder treatment,” says Zaring. “They’ve poured so much into this release, and we’re beyond excited for what’s next.”

Whether you’ve followed The World Will Burn from the beginning or are just now catching the flame, Burn Baby Burn is a fierce reminder that Dale Thompson isn’t done speaking truth through fire.
