Few names in Christian metal are as iconic—or as controversial—as Vengeance Rising, and few voices have cut as sharply as Roger Martinez. With the shocking news of Roger’s passing earlier this year, Roxx Records has chosen to honor his life and legacy with a special release: In Memorial.
This record revisits and reimagines the 1993 Anthology compilation—the final Vengeance Rising release through Intense Records after the band’s fourth and last studio album, Released Upon the Earth. Long absent from reissue campaigns, Anthology now receives its first-ever remastered edition, handled by Rob Colwell (Bombworks Sound), with brand new artwork and design from Scott Waters (NLTM Graphics).
But this isn’t just a reissue, it’s a tribute. In Memorial pays homage to Roger Martinez by presenting these tracks in chronological order, alongside new liner notes and reflections from friends, bandmates, and voices like Pastor Bob Beeman, who stood alongside Vengeance Rising from the beginning.
The CD edition will go even deeper, featuring a 16-page booklet with full lyrics, expanded essays, and the exclusive bonus track: a rare interview originally only available on the Hot Metal Summer II cassette compilation.
