In a short time, Light The Dark has established itself as Scandinavia’s largest rock and hard rock festival with a Christian foundation. The festival offers a well-balanced mix of various rock and hard rock styles, attracting visitors from around 15 different countries each year.
In 2027, the festival will be held for the third time, once again taking place at Arbis in Norrköping.
Since its inception, the festival’s goal has been to “spread light in the darkness,” and it therefore books bands and artists whose lyrics are positive and uplifting.
The 2027 lineup is now complete, featuring some truly impressive acts:
Bride – When Stryper went on hiatus in the early 1990s, Bride took the helm as the biggest Christian hard rock band. The band has now decided to bring their career to a close. Their performance at Light The Dark will be their final show in Europe—30 years after their last concert in Sweden.
Extol – This Norwegian progressive death/thrash band (fronted by Ole Børud!) has recently returned with their first new album since 2013. It has been just as long since the band last played in Sweden, making their appearance at Light The Dark a rare opportunity to see them live.
Altira – As the lead singer of the Grammy-nominated band Fireflight, Dawn Michele achieved great success. Her new all-female band, Altira, is enjoying similar success; they have already topped several charts in the U.S. and shared the stage with major acts like Skillet and Disciple. Their performance at Light The Dark will mark the band’s European debut.
Jerusalem – A classic Swedish hard rock band formed back in 1975. During part of their set, they will mark the 40th anniversary of the album “Dancing on the Head of the Serpent.”
Nicke Borg Homeland – The former lead singer of Backyard Babies. He will perform acoustic renditions of songs from his solo project, Nicke Borg Homeland, as well as Backyard Babies’ biggest hits, all spiced up with a few carefully selected covers.
Charizma – In the late 1980s, Charizma rubbed shoulders with the major rock stars of the era on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. In the early 1990s, they became big in Estonia—scoring a number-one hit there—and sold over 40,000 records across the former Soviet Union. Later, in the early 2000s, they even reached the top three on the official Swedish music charts! Light The Dark offers a unique new opportunity to see them perform!
