CRIMSON OVERTONE RETURNS WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE “ASHES FALL”

Resurrection Records is proud to present the latest hard-hitting anthem from Crimson Overtone,
“Ashes Fall.” Following the success of their last single, “Welcome To Nowhere,” which made
waves on the Christian Music Weekly Rock Power Surge and Rock on the Verge charts in May
2024, the band is back with another emotionally charged track that speaks to the struggles of
boundaries, self-worth, and personal growth.

Vocalist and songwriter Christina shares, “I have always struggled with setting boundaries and
saying no. I try to juggle so many different things and pray I don’t let any of them fall to the
wayside. The problem is, we weren’t meant to carry the world on our shoulders. Inevitably, the
weight is going to crush us, and everything is going to come crashing down.”

During the writing of “Ashes Fall,” Christina was going through a period of major
transition—taking on band management responsibilities, adjusting to married life, finishing
college, launching a career in education, and leading in a recovery program. At the same time,
she endured the painful loss of friendships she believed would last forever. “I was heartbroken. I
felt like I did everything right and it still all fell apart. My people-pleasing and plate-spinning
couldn’t stop the bridges from burning, and in the ashes of my broken heart, I needed ‘space to
bleed,’”  With “Ashes Fall,” Crimson Overtone aims to provide listeners with a space to process
their own struggles and find healing. “More than anything, I hope people will see themselves in
this song. The first step in healing is recognizing the hurt and acknowledging the damage we do
to ourselves and others. I hope this will be a piece that brings some healing and validation to
anyone who has ever struggled with these feelings. I want it to be something they can go back
to again and again for encouragement and ‘space to bleed,’” Christina explains.

One of the stand out lyrics in “Ashes
Fall”  is the bridge:
“Hold the line
Hear the shatters
Pick the pieces up again
Hold the line
Watch it crumble
Psychopathic villainess”

“Setting boundaries can make some people uncomfortable,” Christina says. “All of a sudden,
you’re ‘selfish, sensitive, crazy,’ and a million other labels to make you feel bad for setting an
expectation for how you ought to be treated. It’s easier to watch the boundaries shatter or
crumble than to deal with the backlash, but it puts you right back in the horrible cycle. We all
have to choose our hard—do we set the boundaries and face the backlash, or do we bottle up our feelings and pray they don’t overflow?”

“Ashes Fall” speaks to anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, unseen, or stuck in toxic cycles.
“It’s for the parent struggling with overstimulation and underappreciation, for the kid who feels
like they have to make things work with a toxic friend, partner, or family member, for the man
working overtime to get that promotion and feeling completely unseen,” Christina shares. “Point
is, I think there are a lot of people who can relate to these feelings on a personal level, and I
hope it makes them feel seen.”

Crimson Overtone’s “Ashes Fall” is a bold declaration of self-worth, healing, and resilience.
Available now on all major streaming platforms, this is a song that demands to be heard.
