Moreover’s New Trick – Compassion Has Gone To The Dogs

Originally put together throughout 2002-2005, these songs played a part in retaining the 2000s sound of rock in the Christian music scene.  Moreover’s New Trick was just the band to produce such a style of sound, harnessing the elements of original power ballads, modern punk, and alternative rock.  Having shared the stage with big names in the scene such as Disciple, Kids In The Way, Randy Stonehill, and more alike, Moreover’s New Trick took it upon themselves to record an album titled “Compassion Has Gone To The Dogs”.  Performed by the combined talent of Danielle Hoffman, Ken Tucker, Travis Fischer, and Troy Teaney, the album was recorded and produced by Tim Bushong at TBush Studio in Syracuse, Indiana.

Although the album and all info on it became tucked away into obscurity, not all hope was lost for buying it in physical format.  In late 2024, guitarist Ken Tucker made contact with Cole Bezotte, founder of Christian underground music label Coleiosis Records, and kindly asked him to consider redistribution of the album.  After listening to all songs, Cole was more than inspired, stating, “We don’t hear anyone make music like this anymore.  This is the kind of oldschool sound I grew up with.”  Applying the classic Gustave Doré painting “St. Lazarus Begging”, Ken and Cole formed a new layout for the CD; the album was fully reissued on January 13, 2025.  “Compassion Has Gone To The Dogs” made its full return, exciting old and new followers of the label, as well as those who had heard these songs in the past.
