News: Secret Service re-released the basement tapes

Secret Service – The Basement Tapes

After the successful reissue of the first and only Moreover’s New Trick album “Compassion Has Gone To The Dogs”, guitarist Ken Tucker made another deal with Christian underground music label Coleiosis Records to reissue more old material.  Only this time, Ken went further back in time (1988-1989) and recovered the audio recordings of another band he once played guitar for, Secret Service.  Comprised of Ken, Dean Adams, Jeff Horstman, and BJ Studevent, Secret Service recorded a demo tape in Dean’s basement on a two-channel reel-to-reel tape machine.  Copied and shared among fans and friends, these recordings are anything an old-timer could ask for, live and completely raw.  Although Secret Service did not have a specific genre in mind, they combined elements of oldschool rock, metal, punk, blues, and jazz.  Their performance amazed many listeners no matter what they saw it as.

These recordings will return in a new Coleiosis release titled “The Basement Tapes”.  The label’s founder Cole Bezotte states this will be the first time he has ever released anything from the 1980s and hopes Christian rock-and-metal listeners of all ages will take a liking to its style of sound.  It is also the first time these recordings will be on CD, set to release March 28, 2025.
