News: Martyr’s ‘Once Upon a Tale’ to go Digital via Broken Curfew & Roxx Records Partnership

A long-overdue resurrection is finally happening: Martyr’s early thrash/punk crossover recordings are heading to streaming services for the very first time, as reported by Metal Crawlspace.
Thanks to the partnership between Broken Curfew Records and Roxx Records, Once Upon a Tale—a freshly remastered collection of Martyr’s gritty cassette-era demos—is set for a March 28, 2025 digital release. It’s a big moment for Christian metal fans who’ve been holding out hope that these underground gems would one day make their way into the modern age.
The release showcases Martyr’s raw, no-compromise energy from the mid-80s Christian metal underground, resurrected with the help of Rob Colwell (Bombworks Sound) and packaging/layout by Scott Waters (NoLifeTilMetal), with art direction and liner notes by Chris Ackerman.
In addition to the digital drop, collectors can snag a limited gold/black swirl vinyl (200 copies) or a CD with 12-page booklet (500 copies). But don’t wait—these are going fast.
“Streaming royalties still need a serious overhaul, but right now, visibility is everything. We’re honored to help bring this classic material to a wider audience alongside Roxx Records.” – Seth Metoyer, Owner of Broken Curfew Records
Whether you’re discovering Martyr for the first time or revisiting a vital part of Christian metal history, Once Upon a Tale is a release worth turning up loud.
A Note from Broken Curfew Records: Since this was a late-stage development, some digital and streaming platforms may take a bit longer to list the release after March 28. We appreciate your patience and understanding as it rolls out across services.
