News: WAR OF AGES to Release 15TH Anniversary, Re-Recorded Edition of ‘Eternal’
In a powerful nod to the past and a bold step forward, War of Ages has announced the 15th Anniversary Edition of their landmark 2010 release, Eternal. Dropping June 13th via Facedown Records, this special edition marks a milestone not just for the band, but for the label itself landing as Facedown release #200.
More than just a reissue, the anniversary edition is a complete reimagining. Every track has been re-recorded, remixed, and remastered, offering longtime fans a new way to experience the record that helped shape the Christian metalcore landscape. Eternal was already a sonic statement in 2010, and now it’s been reborn with modern edge and renewed fire.
Dave Quiggle, the visual architect behind so many iconic Facedown covers, returns with all-new artwork that captures the evolution of War of Ages over the last 15 years, echoing both legacy and forward momentum.
And if that weren’t enough, the band unearthed a surprise from the original Eternal recording sessions, an unreleased track called “Prevail.” Tucked away in the archives and forgotten even by the band themselves, “Prevail” was nearly complete back in 2010 and has now been fully resurrected, with new life and lyrics added to a hidden gem.
Frontman Leroy Hamp shares the story behind the discovery:
“In 2010, Eternal changed everything for us musically and lyrically. We leaned into clean choruses without losing the aggression that defines War of Ages. While going through old session files, we stumbled on a nearly finished track we didn’t even remember recording—’Prevail.’ It was like jumping into a time machine and finishing a song from our past with the tools of today. ‘Prevail’ is pure 2010 WOA with a splash of our current sound. We had a blast finishing it. Enjoy!”
