News: Bishop’s Spring to Release Bold New Album ‘Insurgent’ on Easter Sunday

Christian thrash revivalists return with fire, faith, and a feature from Dale Thompson of Bride
This Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, Illinois-based Christian metal band Bishop’s Spring unleashes their searing new full-length album, Insurgent—a fierce and faithful follow-up to their 2024 Ascension EP.
Rooted in the raw energy of early Christian thrash, Insurgent resurrects unreleased material written between 1991 and 1993, delivering a sound forged in the heat of the past but aimed directly at the spiritual warfare of today. Across five uncompromising tracks, the band reminds listeners that now is not the time to go soft.
The album’s centerpiece, “Cry of Sodom,” features none other than Dale Thompson of Bride, whose unmistakable vocals tear through Genesis 19 with apocalyptic fervor. His guest appearance adds a prophetic urgency to an already relentless record.
“Insurgent is a call to arms,” the band says. “It’s about standing firm in faith during a time of compromise and complacency. These songs were born in the summer heat of Central Illinois cornfields, and they’ve only gotten hotter with time.”
With their roots in early Christian thrash and their eyes fixed on eternal truth, Bishop’s Spring continues to carve a bold path—bridging old-school grit with modern fire, scripture with speed, and conviction with crushing riffs.
