| HOUSTON, Texas (June 6, 2025) – Texas-based steel industry executive, singer/songwriter, and worship leader, Chris Whittington, whose faith journey has taken him from childhood poverty to successful businessman, has released his latest project, Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version, today, June 6, 2025. Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version, the newly re-imagined 10th anniversary edition of Whittington’s critically acclaimed debut album, Bright Portal, is a collection of melodic, guitar-driven rock tracks with lyrics forged from the truth of Scripture. “Chris Whittington’s music flows with all the lushness of Eden, but remembers that we are still living east of there,” says R.C. Sproul Jr., author and theologian. For Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version, the musician collaborated again with the producer of the original Bright Portal project, fellow Texan and CCM pioneer Kemper Crabb, known for his work with Caedmon’s Call, Radiohalo, and ArkAngel. | Texas-based steel industry executive, singer/songwriter, and worship leader, Chris Whittington, has released his latest project, Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version, today, June 6, 2025. | Whittington, the owner and founder of Houston-based Whittington Steel, also brought in award-winning mastering engineer Bob Boyd (CeCe Winans’ Grammy Award-winning album, Believe For It) to remaster all of the songs featured on the original Bright Portal project, as well as a new bonus track, “God Will Supply All Our Needs.” Boyd, a 3-time Grammy, Dove, and Juno Award winner, has created a sonic upgrade that truly shines. Technology changes everything! Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version comes on the heels of Whittington’s 2024 CD release, Realitorium (featuring guitar great, multiple Grammy nominee, and 7-time Dove Award winner Phil Keaggy), and the 2024 Downe In Yon Forest medieval music concert, where he traded lead vocals with Kemper Crabb as he did in the original PBS broadcast (which had 200 million views, according to Nielsen). The singles from Whittington’s recent Realitorium project have been consistently landing at Number 1 and Number 2 on Play MPE’s DJ streaming charts in the UK, South Africa, and Norway during recent months. Now, the trend is continuing. The first three singles from the new Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version—”Sing with All the Saints in Glory,” “Love Is Come,” and “God Will Supply All Our Needs”—have each landed at Number 1 or Number 2 on the same charts. |

The work was complimented with new vividly colored imagery to increase the spiritual impact of our rebirth and the heavenly pathway ahead.” “As Christ followers, we all have on the horizon rising to meet our Lord someday,” says Whittington. “We shall leave this world behind and enter that bright portal into His holy presence. Let that encourage your heart and help purify your focuses while we wait for that day.” “My life has been a twisting path filled with surprises, but music has remained a constant,” says Whittington. “Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version, the newly re-imagined 10th anniversary edition of my debut album, is a collection of all of my musical influences so far in my life, including David Bowie, Kemper Crabb, Led Zeppelin, and Caedmon’s Call.” |
| The songs on Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version include the original cuts from Bright Portal: “Sing with All the Saints in Glory” (the first single on the new project), “Love Is Come” (the second single on the new project), “Coram Deo,” “Love Again,” and “Fill the Temple,” as well as the bonus cut, “God Will Supply All Our Needs” (the third single on the new project). “God Will Supply All Our Needs” taps into Whittington’s rock roots and displays the signature guitar and unique instrumentation that his listeners have come to expect. It features a Beatlesque vocal blend and an infectious melody that listeners will carry with them from the first chord. Whittington wrote the song during the 2008 financial crisis. It is based on Luke 12:27-31, where Jesus compares how His Father God cares for the beautiful lilies of the field to how He desires to care for all of His children. “God Will Supply All Our Needs” was heavily influenced by the poverty that Whittington, his mother, and his five siblings experienced growing up in the 70s in Houston, Texas, after his business executive father abandoned the family. “I learned first-hand that no matter how bleak things looked, I could truly trust God to supply all my needs,” says Whittington. “As difficult as it was to live through, it taught me not to be afraid—God would always take care of me and my loved ones. And I have been able to share that message with others in full confidence.” The story behind the song, “God Will Supply All Our Needs,” not only taught Whittington to trust God and not be afraid; it influenced him to pursue his dual vocation of music ministry and business. “Dealing with poverty in my childhood, though very difficult, had several positive effects on my life,” Whittington remembers. “It led me to put my trust in Christ at an early age, and He proved that He could take care of me better than any earthly father could. It also taught me to work with excellence and diligence as unto the Lord in everything I did out of gratitude to Him.” “It is my hope that Bright Portal 2025 Remastered Version and my current single, ‘God Will Supply All Our Needs,’ will help someone feel comforted that God will take care of them in every situation and they do not need to fear,” says Whittington. (Creative direction by Joan Tankersley and graphic design by Clarissa Fletcher) | Whittington Balances Dual Vocations of Music Ministry and Business: Singer/songwriter, worship leader, and steel industry executive Chris Whittington was recently interviewed on Biz TV’s Behind the Brand about how he balances his dual vocations of music ministry and business. During the interview, he offered some advice to others who feel called to a similar path. “I believe that the success of my company has been tied to my faith in Jesus Christ,” says Whittington, the founder and owner of Houston-based Whittington Steel. “My business success springs out of the same principles I follow as a worship leader and a church leader,” he explains. “One of the Bible verses I try to live by is Psalm 112:5—It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice,” he says. “Another primary verse for me is Matthew 6:33—But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” |
| “I believe the Lord has led me to focus on a family-like, mentoring community in our company, and we have seen many benefits in our workplace and in our employees’ lives,” comments Whittington. “God made man to care for His creation, and He did so within His institution of the family,” he continues. “In making Adam and Eve and blessing them with children which came from them, He created the family to share the responsibility of caring for His creation. Even as, in the family, it works best when the family members care for and aid one another in their individual tasks, the same is so in every organization, businesses included. In our business, as we help our employees to buy homes and cars, and encourage them with Bible-based relationship advice, we are privileged to watch them grow into hard working, caring individuals who go on to encourage others in their own families and communities.” Whittington also shared some lessons that he has learned about how to bring diverse people together for a common good in the workforce. “We’ve learned that, although each person’s situation can vary, at the core of it all, everyone has a desire to be part of something that’s larger than just themselves,” he explains. “We choose every day to prefer one another in love toward the end goal of making money to support ourselves and our families.” To view Whittington’s interview on Biz TV’s Behind the Brand, click here. |
