News: Rex Carroll introduces new weekly dosage of shred
Rex Carroll has launched Rex Riffs, a new tri-weekly digital delivery service that puts a video of him shredding on your phone – your weekly dose of shred.
“Doug Van Pelt and I were talking,” said Rex Carroll. “I had sent him a solo I recorded that we both like and he said, ‘I wish I could get this on my phone on a regular basis.’ I figured, ‘Why don’t we?’ Then Doug and I started RexRiffs.com.”
Here’s a splash page intro announcing its arrival, followed by a sample video.
“Imagine you’re hanging out with friends,” said Van Pelt, “and your smartphone sends you a notification. ‘Oh, it’s another one of Rex’s riffs,’ you say, as you hold your phone up for all to see Rex Carroll shredding away on the guitar. How cool is that?”
Rex will always be jamming away on the video, sometimes playing a rhythm, sometimes a lead, most times both, along with the occasional mention of the song or riff’s inspiration. So far on the videos we’ve seen, we’ve heard the names of Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen mentioned.
You can subscribe for this service for the monthly fee of $10/month or the annual fee of $100/year. Then every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning you can look forward to receiving a new one-minute riff from Rex on your smartphone. Subscriptions can be purchased at the HM Press online store. You will be instructed to enter in your mobile phone number in the form field when filling out the order.
