Review: Charizma 40 years anniversary gig

Charizma – 40 years anniversary gig! 28th of November 2025
(Guest editorial from Johannes Jonsson)
Charizma is one of the Swedish Christian bands from the ’80s playing Melodic catchy Hardrock. They are hailing from the town Oskarshamn. For many years they have not played together with their classic early lineup. But when they were requested to play at the theme festival Light of Day to support the research for treating Parkinson, ALS and PSP, they thought that the cause was right to do this special gig. It was also good timing to do a gig now to celebrate the 40 years anniversary of their debut album Rock The World! So they decided to play tracks solely from this classic album. When the news got out about the gig the venue was sold out quickly and some fans even came from other countries. So expectations were high, but Charizma delivered in full force.
The band was tight, energetic and firing on all cylinders! Great stage presence and you could really see that they totally enjoyed playing their hard rock tunes again. Such a great performance it was! The only letdown was that the gig was way too short. Would have loved to hear more from them! It was a fantastic evening, showing that Charizma is still a force to be reckoned with. I hope the band decides to do more shows with these classic tunes and lineup, because this gig showed that they have so much more to offer not only musically but also spiritually with their Christ-centered lyrics offering hope in this dark time. ——Johannes Jonsson
