August Burns Red Drop “Sonic Salvation” Video Featuring Polaris’ Jamie Hails, Announce New Album Season of Surrender
Two-time Grammy-nominated metalcore mainstays August Burns Red have released the official video for their new single “Sonic Salvation,” featuring Jamie Hails of Polaris. The track serves as the latest preview of the band’s forthcoming album Season of Surrender, arriving June 5 via Fearless Records.
Driven by crushing breakdowns, anthemic gang vocals, and a strong hardcore edge, “Sonic Salvation” leans into the band’s heavier instincts while emphasizing connection and catharsis. Guitarist JB Brubaker noted the track was the first written for the new album, intentionally crafted to create more space for vocalist Jake Luhrs while tapping deeper into the band’s hardcore roots. Hails’ guest appearance adds an additional layer of intensity to the track’s already aggressive foundation.

Lyrically, Luhrs describes the song as a reflection on music’s ability to restore, ground, and unify—an idea reinforced visually in the video, which features fans performing and engaging with the track, highlighting the communal spirit that has long defined the band’s following.
Season of Surrender will also include guest appearances from Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada and members of Make Them Suffer, signaling a collaborative and expansive direction for the record.
In support of the release, August Burns Red are currently on the road for their “Spring Horizons” co-headlining tour alongside The Amity Affliction, with additional support from Boundaries and Heavensgate. The run continues through mid-May, hitting major cities across North America.
With “Sonic Salvation,” the band continues to refine their signature blend of precision metalcore and emotionally resonant songwriting, offering a track that hits just as hard in the pit as it does on a personal level.
