Jillian Drachman

Jillian Drachman is a journalist whose articles have appeared in Loudwire, Metal Injection, MetalSucks, Rue Morgue, Sound On Sound, Outburn Magazine, New Noise Magazine, and she’s happy to be contributing to the Vice team. She’s delighted to have joined forces with Heaven’s Metal and thinks it will help her say, “To Hell with the Devil.” While she used to cover black metal quite a lot, she prefers black and yellow metal these days, as when her partly cursed love of the genre first arose. Her interest in “dark” music owes mostly to those Russian bands she discovered as a teenager, many of whom have incorporated Christian themes into their art. Jillian worked for New York-based filmmakers for a time, but she didn’t find the experience too inspiring, though she does still harbor a passion for the dramatic arts. She enjoys authors like Proust and, the ultimate proof that intellectual honesty leads to Christianity, Joris-Karl Huysmans.
