SILENT PLANET: Announce Fourth Album
Silent Planet announce Iridescent plus new single “Terminal” |
Silent Planet have finally announced their highly anticipated fourth LP: Iridescent. Out November 12th, the album represents a new era for Silent Planet — pushing the technical musicianship and evocative lyricism that fans have grown to love to it’s furthest limit. The band isn’t holding back their urge to experiment either. In describing the writing of their single “Panopticon”, frontman Garrett Russell notes that “we challenged ourselves to write a song with no guitar. Using only bass, electronic elements, and percussion, we developed this track over the course of the summer.” Pre-order or pre-save the album at the link below, available digitally, on CD, and a whole bunch of unique vinyl variants. |

Their latest single “Terminal” was released with an accompanying music video which includes a bonus track “(liminal);” off Iridescent. Frontman Garrett Russell describes the new single and video as a reflection on time spent in a mental hospital: “For most of my life I have been a very sober person, and this song is about my experience with mind-altering medications while being in-patient. As I took my meds, I watched the world shift around me, and even my own reflection started to shift. I was met with strange visions and imagery, some of which was congruent with ancient mythology. It was during all of this that I began to wonder if the hopelessness was buried too deep for medications to solve on their own. Maybe, I wondered, this is simply the human condition.” |
